When I first joined Hammam-lif’s club back in 2013, I fell in love with everything about it: the humanity of the members, the energy, the creative ideas moving faster than the speed of sound, the rusty old clubhouse. But a couple of things bothered me: the cigarette smog, and the stigma of being an "amateur." The smog is irrelevant now, but being viewed as a lesser artist just because I wasn't producing "professional" art was a real pain point.
